Located in the heart of Austin, The Westin Austin Downtown is the latest and second Westin property in the city. Although just recently opening its doors in July 2015, the 17-story hotel has already become a popular choice for many tourists visiting Austin. The style of the exterior and interior structure of the building make it a unique addition to East Fifth Street. Simeone Deary Design Group, which was chosen to develop the interior features of the project, designed the hotel to reflect the vibrant local music scene through a host of fixtures as well as the custom art-pieces scattered throughout the 326 rooms. Along with the 13,500 square feet of banquet and meeting spaces available, The Westin also offers an impressive rooftop pool and bar with 180-degree views of the city.

Terracotta Panels

The exterior façade is similarly meant to mirror the energetic, modern ambience that the city of Austin emits. Installed over the span of two years by ProCLAD, the exterior design incorporates a variety of metal panels to augment the contemporary appearance and atmosphere of the establishment. Terracotta tiles were utilized for a small section of The Westin to better showcase the Stella San Jac restaurant located on the lowest level of the hotel. The remainder of the structure is comprised of layers of formed metal wall panels that create the unique pattern and scheme of the façade.
