Turner Universal has chosen ProCLAD to furnish the 350,000 square-foot exterior for the Owensboro Medical Health System New Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky. The $268 Million Campus will sit on 150 acres and feature 760,000 square feet of space.

Turner will use its Integrated Project Delivery Process to build the structure on time and within budget. ProCLAD is working with the project team to achieve a sustainable exterior design that will provide the best long-term value. Lean Construction methods within IPD will accelerate the design development and field construction schedule.

The Milwaukee architect - Hammel, Green and Abrahamson (HGA) - incorporated a wide variety of design elements on the project. One-third of the façade consists of curtain wall and ribbon windows that are both unitized and stick built. RC Aluminum will provide the pre-glazed units and Kentucky Mirror & Plate will coordinate the installation.

Another one-third of the envelope consists of hand-set masonry and rainscreen limestone. On the balance of the structure, ProCLAD will furnish and install insulated metal panels, composite metal panels, phenolic panels, profile metal panels, louvers and column covers.

The building will feature several large-scale expansion joints engineered to withstand seismic forces. The separate wings of the mid-rise portion of the structure are designed to move independently in an earthquake.

ProCLAD has partnered with local qualified second-tier subcontractors to further contribute to the economic development that the new hospital brings to the region.
