The first event at Indy's Convention Center addition will be the Dealer Expo in February.
"Construction on the expansion at the Indianapolis Convention Center is about 70 percent complete," said Lori Dunlap, Deputy Director of the Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority. The timetable calls for the expansion, the Convention Center's fifth, to be completed by December. Construction on the $275 million project remains within budget.
ProCLAD is furnishing metal panels on the walls of the structure and metal cladding on the new entry pavilion near Capitol Avenue and Georgia Street. Visitors will be greeted by a large overhanging roof and three-story-high walls. ProCLAD is installing composite metal panels on the east elevation and profile metal panels on the south and west elevations, as well as the interior acoustical panels in the Exhibit Halls.
Of the $237 million in construction related contracts so far, 28% have been awarded to minority-owned or woman-owned companies which exceeds the 20% goal for the government project. 19% of the contracts are being completed by minority-owned companies and 9% by woman-owned businesses.
ProCLAD's exterior façade team routinely includes a high level of participation from its minority-owned, woman-owned and veteran-owned business partners.
